Hello Joust for Fun backers!
This week’s update brings you production photos…
This is the first public picture of our production-proof. In it you can see a few things. First, notice the ‘back design’ of our scenario cards. Each of our three special scenarios is matched with a color (in this case light purple) and sports the name of that scenario (Court Card Carousel). Special Knights that are used only in that scenario (in this case Maiden Fair) will also have a matching light purple back for easy reference.
Perhaps the most interesting thing to notice is how the tarot sized cards are vertical in the box. Originally we had designed the tarot cards to lie horizontally, but during production this changed for safer shipping. The necessary result of that change is that Joust for Fun now has a slightly larger box. Finally, if you have eagle eyes, you may have noticed some ‘tokens’ behind the ‘Nobody Expects It.’ These are our damage tokens. Here, you can see them better in this picture:
Now, it’s important to note that this production-proof photo shows Joust for Fun’s prototype We’ve already made a few small changes to this design – most notably, we’ve made the hearts on the tokens 75% larger. In this first production-proof they were just too small.
Well, there you have two production photos showing a bit of behind the scenes at Black Key Games. Hopefully we will receive our production-proof copy of Joust for Fun in a few weeks, and that’s exciting! We hope to do a video feed of the unboxing and will update you with those details when we have them.

Hello Backers!
Quick update today. BackerKit is going very well. Most of you (80%) have successfully gone online, verified your order and address, and even shared the BackerKit link online!
We’d also like to do a quick shout out to our Backers that added stickers to their cart! We love these stickers and are super happy you do too! If you want to be extra helpful, If you know somebody who may love funny characters on stickers, or know somebody who would want a copy of Joust for Fun, please forward this email to them so they can go on BackerKit and get some love too! If you order only stickers, Shipping is also... FREE!
Thank you for helping us spread the word about BackerKit! You are my favorite Knight! In fact, if you are wearing a pair of overalls, we could say you are the overall winner!!! :-D #dadjoke
In terms of production, we should have our production-proof copy of Joust for Fun by the end of the month. This will be our final chance to make sure the game is exactly like we want — colors, box, cards, tokens, everything!
By the way, if you ever need something air mailed from China, like a production-proof, we now know how expensive that is. Let’s just say the postal service is the *overall* owner! #repeatingdadjoke

Hello Backers,
Several members of Black Key Games attended our first convention – Long Beach Comic Con! And we have some pictures to share with you.
Our booth had two demo tables, a giant banner showcasing all our Knights, our artist on hand, and lots of T-Shirts and stickers!
We had some wonderful, fierce demo games. And several players came back to play demos again and again.
If you are interested in demo’ing the game, or picking up any swag early, you are welcome to join us for Los Angeles Comic Con (Oct 26-28th)! Who knows, we may even have some new swag! While there, you can also participate in the Cosplay National Championship! We recommend going as “Yeti-or-Not!”

The really exciting news is that our pre-order store is open! BackerKit has opened to the public, and is currently being ‘smoke’ tested for our Kickstarter Backers. This means that 5% of our backers (you!) now have access to BackerKit. And the other 95% should have access by tonight!

Hello again Backers,
Exciting news — We are getting so close to opening BackerKit for you. Soon, you’ll be able to finalize your Kickstarter pledge and confirm your address.
If you bought a T-shirt, or if you are planning to buy a T-shirt, you get to select your options in BackerKit.
We have three style options, six Knight options, and many size options. We are super excited about our T-shirts. They came out so well!!
