Do I have to use BackerKit to get my Kickstarter pledge items?

Yes, BackerKit is used to verify your items and finalize your shipping address. You don’t need to purchase anything on BackerKit, but you do need to finalize your order and confirm your shipping address.

I never got my survey! What should I do?

If you haven’t received your survey, please contact your project creator so they can resend it to you. Please verify that you correctly entered the email address in the crowdfunding platform you used to support the project. To make sure that emails from your project creator don't get caught in your spam filter, add support@s.backerkit.com to your address book.

My credit card was declined! Why?

Your credit card may be declined if something recently happened with your card, such as your credit card number was used fraudulently. If your card is declined, try using another card. If you don’t have another card or you continue to have different cards declined, contact your project creator, who can help you process your payment. BackerKit uses the payment provider Stripe to process credit card transactions. Stripe works to provide secure payment processing, which means it tries to ensure that all credit card transactions are legitimate. This level of security is designed to protect your financial data, but can occasionally lead to legitimate payments being declined. If you believe the issue with processing your payment is related to BackerKit, please contact us at support@backerkit.com and we’ll help you finalize your payment.

Why do I need to enter my payment information?

You’ll be asked to enter payment information in the BackerKit survey only when you purchase additional add-on items. Your original pledge covers the cost of the items you’ll receive for your pledge level. However, you’ll need to pay for any additional items you purchase. Hence, the need for payment information.

I don’t seem to be getting emails from BackerKit, what can I do?

Sometimes email servers will accidently put your BackerKit emails in the spam folder. You may need to check your spam folder, and you may need to set your email settings to allow BackerKit emails. If these still do not work, email us at our contact info below.

How do I change my pledge?

While on the ADD-ONS page, near the top, you can click on your current pledge level. This will open a new window with ‘Switch Pledge Level” button in the top left

I can’t add my pledge to my cart. What do I do?

You don’t need to add your original Kickstarter pledge to your cart. Pledges are automatically added to your cart. You can see the items you will receive from your pledge in the upper right corner of the ADD-ONs page, or the top of the page if on mobile.

How do I add additional items to my cart?

In BackerKit’s add-on store, you can add an item to your cart by clicking the ‘add to cart’ button directly below each picture. This item will now be included in your invoice on the far right side of the screen.

How do I remove an item from my cart?

If you’ve accidentally added an item to your cart, you can remove that item. To remove that item, click on the trashcan icon next to that item in your invoice on the far right side of the screen.

When will my items ship?

Your items will ship as soon as Joust for Fun is released! Currently we are in production and the game is scheduled to be released on time, in Feb 2019. You can follow along with our production schedule and other cool information in your Kickstarter Update emails.

What if I’m moving before my items ship?

You can enter Backerkit to update your order up until the time that surveys are locked. After that while you may not be able to adjust your order, you can update your shipping address until the time that your project creator begins fulfilling and shipping orders.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.

Why can’t I log into my account?

Request a login link to your survey by entering your email here:

BackerKit will send you an automated email with an invite link to whatever email you pledged with.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

Can I upgrade or get multiple copies of my pledge?

This depends on the project creator’s decision. If you are unable to see the ‘Want to switch your pledge level?’ after clicking on your pledge amount under “Pledge Level” in your survey, then the project creator would prefer people not to switch pledge levels.
