Preview: Sir Cumference of the Round Table!
over 5 years ago – Wed, Jul 25, 2018 at 08:24:31 AM

Hello Backers! Let me show off a good friend of mine – Sir Cumference of the Round Table!

Both our gameplay and artistic design goal with Sir Cumference was to give him as many pie, pi and 3.14 jokes as we could (un)reasonably fit on the card, all without sacrificing game balance. Thus, Sir Cumference protects himself with his pie-symbol’ed shield, wears a pi clasp, and, you couldn’t know this, but he even named his rotund house “Blueberry Pie.” His actual game ability is also a pi/pie joke, but I’ll let you math that one out. Altogether, Sir Cumference is clearly the most pious Knight in the realm!

In game terms, Sir Cumference’s ability allows a significant self-heal, as long as he has a fan bring him pie. And, about that Pie, Sir Cumference loves to entice away your fans with pie!

With Entice them with Pie, your Knight can steal opposing fans. When playing Joust for Fun in normal mode, this helps you win by getting to 12 fans faster in order to win the game. In Royal Decree mode, you’ll not only be able to use your Fan powers faster, you’ll also be limiting your opponent’s fan support! Pie is wonderful thing!

Thanks for checking in on this preview. We hope you all around love Sir Cumference as much as we do!

Until tomorrow! -BKG

Scenarios! – Court Card Carousel
over 5 years ago – Wed, Jul 25, 2018 at 08:24:26 AM

Hello fellow Knights!

We have a 3-part update today for Joust for Fun! That’s right – We unlocked another stretch goal, we are showing off our new current stretch goal, and we get to tell you all about scenarios!

As you already know, Joust for Fun builds stories around each Knight by also releasing a thematically similar Court Card. In case you forgot, here is your most recently completed stretch goal: Maiden Fair and Furryous Attack!

Now, our newest stretch goal is very special. It’s a scenario! So, let’s talk scenarios. Each scenario takes each Knight’s story further. In a scenario event, we focus on a single Knight and build an entire game just for that Knight. Welcome to Maiden Fair and her Court Card Carousel!

For Court Card Carousel, you receive three extra copies of Maiden Fair (with different card backs than the regular version for easy scenario identification) and a dual-sided scenario rules card.

Court Card Carousel is a 3-player battle to see who the real Maiden Fair is! For this game you won’t have your own Court Cards. Instead, you’ll be sharing a rotating ‘common pool’ of Court Cards that change every turn – making for some crazy combinations of effects! Maiden Fair, of course, also has her own ability “Block – Deal damage to the attacker equal to your block value” and, for this scenario, she has 11 health.

You can also read the full rules on the scenario rules card below!

Thank you for reading this update. Got any questions? Feel free to contact us through Kickstarter or via Blackkeygames.com. We love hearing from you. Until next update – keep your lances sharp!

Preview: Anne Bowl'in
over 5 years ago – Thu, Jul 19, 2018 at 09:50:35 AM

Today's preview is Anne Bowl'in! You may think this refers to Queen Anne Boleyn. All we can say is that both of their husband's were a real pain in the neck!

Did you see that ability? Clearly Anne Bowl'in is an aggressive knight. Any time she successfully strikes, each knight controlled by the defender takes an extra point of damage. She bowls them over! And speaking of bowling, check out her court card!

With 7-10 split, any knight can gain Anne Bowl'in's power to deal extra damage! Opposing knights trying to hide in the stable, like Yeti or Not, will still take damage! That's how Anne Bowl'in gets *ahead* of the game!

We hope you enjoyed this preview!
