At LACC, we demo’ed the game for three straight days… and to all kinds of cosplayers, attendees, and vendors! We wanted to take this time to thank everybody who demo’ed Joust for Fun! Here is some of the fun!

Even Bowsette loves our Self-Rescuing Princess!

Missed your chance to demo the game at LACC? January 10th-13th we will be at Anime LA  showing off Joust for Fun in the game area! Stop by, play a game, have your picture taken. Mention you already backed Joust for Fun, and get a free sticker of your choice! We would love to see you.

Until next week,

Hello Backers!

Exciting news – we did a podcast! The wonderful people at Geek Say What wanted you to hear our voices! So, we voiced! It’s a wonderful chance to hear behind the scenes of Joust for Fun and the creation process! And, of course, we talk about hand sizes. :-D

It’s a pretty funny – and slightly ridiculous – podcast. We fully recommend listening to it right now. :-D

Also, are you in the Los Angeles area? Do you like fun? Are you going to Los Angeles Comic com? Cuz we are! And we want to see you! From Oct 26th to Oct 28, Black Key Games will be doing demos of Joust for Fun at Booth 2212, right next to the Ant Man statue! Come by, say hi, pick up a free sticker! Maybe even play in a tournament and win a T-shirt! Fun times!

There is so much more exciting news to share, but we can’t just yet. We have to wait until things become a little more official. But, if you are curious about what Black Key Games and Joust for Fun has next, there are a few clues in the Geek Say What podcast. Again, show them some love by clicking and listening now!

Until next week Backers!

Weekly Update — 10.15.18

Hello Backers,

Things are progressing well in the world of Joust for Fun! Here are some updates for you...

Lady Dun Waiting has informed us that, as of yesterday, we are officially in mass production mode! Yay!!! This process takes anywhere from 45-60 days, depending on the queue in China.

Maiden Fair has had several conversations with industry insiders, and she’s discovered our logo-driven box design just wasn’t standard. In short, everybody wants to see Mishy's beautiful art directly on the cover. This is especially important for distributors, consolidators, and brick and mortar game stores. We know that some of you will love this change and others might be shocked by the change. Please understand we loved the logo box cover as well, but Maiden Fair needed to make a business-centric change:

As you can see, the logo is still there and is now surrounded by art as well.

Finally, Khal BOGO wants to remind you that things are always better in pairs — so if you’d like a second copy of the game for a friend, you can find the pre-order store by clicking below:

Thank you lovely Backers! See you next week!

That's pretty much it for this week. We are hoping to have some really great news for you in next weeks update. See you then!

Weekly Update 10.01.18
over 5 years ago – Tue, Oct 02, 2018 at 12:38:21 AM

Hey everybody,

This week’s update brings you a few more production photos. First, check out our rulebook in all its glory!

Would you like to read the rulebook? I’ll let you — but on one condition. You have to spot all the typos we’ve missed. Now, we’ve already found and fixed a lot of typos, so my hope is that you find zero typos. But if I know anything about you, Backer, it’s that you have a keen eye for typos! Go ahead. Find them. Make me cry (actually it isn’t too late to fix typos yet. It will be too late in a few days.)

Do you remember last week’s update? Of course you do — You aren’t that kid in the back of the class that never pays attention. Well, last week we showed you the production copy of our double-sided damage tokens. And you probably also remember I told you they were too small, so we fixed them. Here they are in all their newly resized glory! (And, in case you are that kid in the back of the class — The hearts are much bigger)

We can also show you the first mock up of the high-tech insert to protect your poker-sized cards. Seriously, it’s high tech. It might look like just simple white cardstock and that’s because... it is!

Finally, let’s see how everything fits in your box. Well, except the rulebook because that’s so big it covers everything else. :-D

That's all for production this week. Things are basically on schedule. If you like this updated, remember to comment below. Also, next week we will be posting a video update of Nick unboxing our first production copy. So, if you want to see what everything will look like (unless we make changes), this will be your chance. Also, this may be the first time Nick has ever been on video anywhere since his high school televideo days. Stay tuned!
